Shipment For Dragon Quest X for 3DS Is On Momentary Halt

dragon quest x server overload

With the success of the massively multiplayer online RPG, Dragon Quest X for 3DS that's been released in Japan last week, it's no wonder that Square Enix encountered a multitude of server issues. This is due to players having a huge influx with many unable to log on to the game's cloud server during peak hours.

During the game's debut week, the first shipment has been sold out. Square Enix decided to temporarily halt the following shipments to avoid more technical difficulties to be encountered and decided to focus on the current consumers for the meantime to let them experience the game smoothly. For players who already played a huge amount of game time, Square decided to reimburse the game with free game hours to allow fair usage when the server starts to operate smoothly again.

The game requires a subscription fee. For a 3-day pass (350 yen, or $3.50), 10-day pass (650 yen, or $6.50), or 30-day pass (1,500 yen, or $15). The main game is priced 3,800 yen (about $37) and includes some in-game items and 60 days of free play time and is only available in Japan for now.
