Users from Neogaf had just spotted a patent by Nintendo together with AMBRELLA Co. that looks like a new handheld device, filed On March 7, 2014 and was published on September 11, via the USPTO. It could possibly be a new handheld that is going to be next to 3ds but I'm not sure yet since the complete details regarding the device other than the patent is not clear yet.
Interesting enough, the device is described that it's going to utilize NFC/RFID figures and IC cards (smart cards) for gaming purposes, with Pokémon (seemingly) in focus.
